Battle of the Parks™Opening
Southwest Resiliency Park started as more than a playground. The original park opened in 2017 as flood-smart green infrastructure. On September 4, 2025, Hoboken cut the ribbon on an expansion that roughly doubles the footprint and brings six public pickleball courts alongside basketball, a playground, splash pad, and plaza.
The expansion sits on a former underutilized lot (Block 10 / Academy Bus site, acquired 2021). Dual identity: recreation and stormwater. The expansion can detain roughly 260,000 gallons; the combined park about 460,000. The lineage runs through Rebuild by Design and post–Superstorm Sandy Hudson River work.

Today
Six outdoor public courts on concrete. Open play: pick your court; paddle racks per court. It’s usually 4 on / 4 off, with one challenge court (usually #1 or #6). Hours: 7:00 AM–10:00 PM.
