Origin
James J. Braddock Park takes its name from the heavyweight champion they called the Cinderella Man. The grounds themselves go back further, established in 1910 as North Hudson Park, a 167-acre cliff-and-lake complex with Manhattan skyline views.
Pickleball sits on a much larger athletic campus: seven outdoor courts with permanent lines and nets: four at the tennis facility and three outer courts outside that facility.
Four at the facility follow the clock. Three outer stay open play.

Play is free. How you get on court depends which seven you’re looking at.
The four courts at the tennis facility run on a split weekday clock: reservation only from 1–6 PM, then open play from 6–10 PM. Weekends are reservation for those facility courts. Reservations are free. Book by phone at 201-978-1765, up to two days in advance.
The three outer courts (outside the tennis facility, still outdoors) are always open play. Show up, stack in, play.
